Dano Summer Festival in London's Trafalgar Square

On Sunday 17th June, following my early morning piano lesson, I headed off to Trafalgar Square for 'Dano - Korea Sparkling Summer Festival'. The event, celebrating the Korean summer festival Dano, was organised by the Korean Cultural Promotion Agency.
As I arrived in Trafalgar Square I was greeted by a young girl handing out programmes. Soon it was time for the Grand Parade at noon, featuring musicians and dancers from the Yeongsan Company of Traditional Arts (flown in from Korea especially for this event).
My favourite part of the day was the Korean fan dance performance. As the dancers walked onto the stage, 'oohs' and 'aahs' could be heard from the audience entranced by the beautiful hanboks and vibrant coloured fans.
It was a fun-packed afternoon, and Europe's first Dano event provided a fascinating insight into the culture of Korea; featuring Korean cuisine, music and dance.

It's a good news from UK that Dano festival was held in Trafalqa square.
However, we have a bad news from Afghanistan, that 23 innocent Koreans were kidnapped by Talibans.
Two of them were already killed. For Koreans, it's hard to believe that Muslims persue peace.
0n August 11th, there was a Dae Jang Geum Festival in Tokyo Dome. Tokyo Dome is the most famous indoor baseball stadium in Japan. Baseball is the most popular sports in Japan, like football in UK.
Almost all DJG Casts attended including Lee Young Ae and Ji Jin Hee. More than 30 thousand people atteded and enjoyed the big show. It was the first TV drama festival in Tokyo Dom history.
It is very interesting that so many Japanese attended the show, since the drama finished more than a year ago in Japan.
All the remainig Korean hostages are freed from Taliban. It is a happy feature of a misfortune. Some Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia and Indonesia helped the negotiation.
hi
I was curious that DJG recorded 85% viewer rate in Iran.
So, I searched and found a few episodes dubbed with Persian in internet. I watched one of them.
Although, I don't understand Persian, I could understand what they were talking, because I know the story. Moreover the dubbing was so excellent that I could feel their emotions as if I watch the original version.
And I am sure that there is no reason of English dubbing would compromise the original feelings. I think that DJG has never been dubbed in English yet. English dubbing would help many people to watch DJG.
The British Museum in London is going to hold a Chuseok festival on Sep 22nd.
Chuseok is August 15th by lunar calendar. It is always a full moon day and sometimes translated as Korean Thanksgiving day. It is September 25th by solar calendar this year (it changes every year). Many Koreans visit hometown to meet parents and hold ceremony for their ancesters' spirits using foods made from newly harvested crops. It's somewhat similar to Chinese new year day in China.
DJG would be shorten to 93 minutes length and be shown during the festival. Although,93 minutes is too short to show the dramas real feeling, it would show the storyline, music, hanbok, Korean foods, Korean palace, Korean medicine, and so on.
I hope it would help BBC or other European TV stations to decide to air DJG.
